Stand between two countries at Sunset Point

At the very western tip of Belle Isle, you'll have an amazing view of both Detroit, MI USA and Windsor, ON Canada. Great for pictures and taking in a sunset.

Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory

After a two-year closure for renovation, the 120-year old Albert Kahn–designed Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, known locally as just the Belle Isle Conservatory, reopened it's glass doors to the public in early in 2025. Known for housing the largest municipally owned orchid collection, the conservatory also features a collection of rare plants from around the world, seasonal flora beds, and a lily-koi pond.

On the day of our wedding the conservatory will be open 10AM -5PM.

Belle Isle Aquarium

The Belle Isle Aquarium was designed by famed Detroit architect, Albert Kahn, and opened on August 18, 1904. It is the oldest aquarium in the country and has served the Detroit community as a beloved attraction for generations.

When the Belle Isle Aquarium opened it was the third-largest Aquarium in the world with salt water being shipped directly in from the ocean. Today, it is home to a unique collection of fish. With one of the largest collections of air-breathing fish in the world, they house the only known collection of all 7 species of gar in North America. Walking through the aquarium, you will travel all over the globe exploring the Great Lakes and Waters of the world. From Africa to South American from rocky shores to sandy depths all different environments are on display.

On the day our our wedding, the aquarium will be open from 10AM - 4PM.

Belle Isle Nature Center

At the Belle Isle Nature Center, visitors will get the opportunity to get up close and personal with different distinct species native to Michigan. There are many kinds of wildlife that may be observed there, such as snapping turtles, black rat snakes and fallow deer.

The day of our wedding the Nature Center will be open 10AM - 5PM

Head to the beach

It's spring in Michigan, who knows, it may be 40 degrees, it may be 85. Bring your beach gear and go for a swim before our festivities begin!

Explore the Island

The island offers so many more landmarks, monuments, nature paths, and activities than we can show you here. While we'll need time to ourselves to prepare at the venue beforehand, we encourage you to arrive to the island early and go on a mini adventure until we're ready for you!
